Shops and Shoes

On the first day of our visit to our area of Soho, Covent Garden and China town, a small group of us decided to explore the smaller streets around Covent Garden. We thought that here we may be able to find places other than the main tourist attractions and get a better feel for the place because of this. This brought us to smaller shopping streets that were much less crowded and that had a more relaxed feeling to the place. It was somewhere I felt comfortable to wonder around and browse in the shops as no-one was really in a hurry to get anywhere, unlike the busy areas of Covent Garden I've been to before.

As we were looking around I noticed quite a few shoe shops and with the deteriorating state of my boots I thought it would be quite interesting to record this as I walked around and record the state of other peoples' shoes who were in this area. The picture I took above I realy like, as it shows the relaxed atmosphere of the place but also a good indication of the weather by the dim light and peoples' choice of clothes. As you can see people are just beginning to start wearing coats as the days get colder and the girl in the foreground has on a pair of warm-looking boots.
